What is feldenkrais?

The Feldenkrais method teaches the body to move and function more efficiently and with greater ease. The method  re-educates the nervous system to improve motor ability, eliminate pain and increase coordination. The Feldenkrais method promotes joint functionality and mitigates repetitive stress injuries. Continued use of the method can lead to higher levels of achievement, and technique in the arts and sports. For older adults, regular Feldenkrais  lessons promotes better balance, and offers more freedom of movement. For injured dancers, musician, singers and athletes, the Feldenkrais method guides the recovery process teaching the body to move more intelligently and without fear.  Moshe Feldenkrais stated that one of his goals was, "to make the impossible possible, the possible easy, and the easy, elegant."  

Often, people first discover Feldenkrais as an alternative to physical therapy, acupuncture or chiropractic therapy.  The Feldenkrais method has a unique approach in that it works to re-educate the brain to revive the body. This allows surrogate neurological pathways to rejuvenate the body's ability to function anew.
